Adrienne
Before I had cancer, my time was spent at work – lots and lots and lots of work and working out and spending time with my friends. After cancer, or during cancer—once I was diagnosed, my time shifted. First of all, the boyfriend came home and also, doctor appointments, and I was still working. So those became my new top three priorities. Working out did not factor in there. I still got to see my friends a lot, and family and friends have been the biggest support. But I guess when I think about my diagnosis, it’s—a blessing is a strange word to use, but I almost do. It helped me to prioritize my life. I’ve stopped working for the time being to focus on my health. I’ve figured out all the toxins in my life, and I’ve figured out all the good things in my life and focused on those rather than the bad. And it’s given me a lot of perspective. So it’s hard and it’s painful and there are definitely times when I have the “why me?”, but for the most part I see it as giving me clarity.
