So a woman who is deciding whether or not to freeze embryos or to freeze eggs, the costs are generally the same. There may be an additional cost that the woman has to use donor sperm. It’s generally the same. So, the procedures that the woman goes through to do embryos and to do eggs are the same for the egg harvest so the bulk of the cost is the drugs and the procedures that are done for that. There may be some additional cost that she has to use donor sperm. The cost for donor sperm on average is about $200 to $500 depending upon which lab you actually get the sperm from. Fertility centers work with sperm banks all over the country and are able to negotiate rates with them but generally, it’s about $200 to $500.
