Fertility preservation options for women are much more complicated than those that are available for men, simply because the reproductive cells that come from women are not nearly as accessible as those that come from men. In simple terms, men that wish to preserve their fertility may produce semen samples and have their semen samples frozen using techniques which have been available and successful for many, many years. This is very straightforward.

Unfortunately in the case of women, the eggs, which are the important cells, are located within the ovaries, which in turn are located deep within the bodies of the women from whom we wish to obtain them. And necessarily, the techniques that are required to harvest and store the eggs are more complicated.
