With regards to fertility, I guess I had to make a decision, but I didn’t really think about it much. My mother is actually the one who came in and asked the doctor specifically, you know, is there anything we need to do to preserve her fertility. And she asked questions about preserving eggs, and, you know, he gave her some answers, but I made it pretty clear to her that I wasn’t interested in really taking the time to try to figure that out because, like I said there were only five days between the day I went in and the day I started chemotherapy, so because of the aggression of the cancer, they decided to just go ahead with the chemotherapy. So there wasn’t much time to plan for the fertility options.
I am currently happy with the decision that I made not to necessarily go through any specific fertility treatments. If I were in a different situation, if I were in a serious relationship, or I really felt like having a family was what I wanted—I guess having a biological family was what I wanted, then I would have definitely made it more of a priority for me, but because those aren’t my priorities, I didn’t do anything differently, and I’m okay with that. I feel happy with my decision, I feel like things will turn out the way that they’re supposed to turn out, so I’m okay with it.
